Basic Information The BC-1® (UNS N10362) alloy is a patented product of Haynes International, Inc. in the United States. Corrosion Resistance Compared with the Hastelloy C series alloys, BC-1® has higher resistance to hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid and sulfuric acid. It is extremely resistant to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion, and can even withstand the corrosion of reducing acids when exposed to an oxidizing environment.  Physical Properties This alloy is suitable for use at temperatures up to approximately 427°C (800°F).  Processing Properties It has good processing properties and can be processed and manufactured through various methods such as cold working and hot working. However, due to its high tendency for work hardening, appropriate tools and processing parameters need to be selected during the processing.  Application Environments The BC-1® alloy is suitable for the following applications in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, petrochemical and power industries: The BC1® alloy performs excellently in the exposure of reducing acids and acid mixtures (with or without halides) to oxygen and other oxidizing residues/contaminants.  Chemical Composition
